The “sowing a seed” scam….extortion with a religious spin.

If you are a believer and the title has already given you bad vibes, I wouldn’t ignore this blog post so soon. I want you guys to test this post to see if I’m just speaking out of strong dislike for the doctrine, or if my reasoning actually makes sense according to the scripture and the words of Yeshua A.K.A. Jesus. Test all things right? Cling to that which is good and throw the rest in the trash. This post just may save you a few hundred dollars that you were planning to give your church on Resurrection Sunday.

If you were to watch this video, the words from this Pastor would capture your soul if you were unstudied in biblical text. He points the viewer to the book of 2nd Kings, chapter 4 to give a prerequisite to this “Release the Increase” doctrine he is trying to sell. He is telling us that The Heavenly Father wants people (church members, believers, etc.) to “sow a monetary seed” into this organization to increase their faith. Faith is the “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.”

What’s funny about this is, when you read 2 Kings Chapter 4, this “miracle” that the widow woman received was due to her SELLING OIL AND PAYING OFF HER DEBT. Don’t believe me? Let’s read it together!

2 Kings 4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Elisha and the Widow’s Oil

4 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

WOW! Literally, the first lie has been dispelled just by going to read and test the things that this Pastor is saying! There was no miracle. She used the resources that she had in order to pay off a debt. She didn’t invest into a church and use money to buy into a “faith” doctrine. In modern day, this would look like selling your vehicle in order to erase debt. Another perfect example would be like the mother below who baked cakes and used it to pay off her mortgage.

When Jesus or Yeshua is speaking in Matthew 17 and he heals a person who was demon-possessed, he didn’t sow a monetary seed in order to do that. In fact, he stated that if we have “faith” the size of a mustard seed, we could accomplish anything. I would think this equates to using your MIND, your WILL, and your God-given STRENGTH to influence a favorable outcome to any situation you may face. You just have to trust what The Almighty said that you could accomplish and have a little faith in the abilities that he has equipped you with. Does this make sense?

Angela Logan, mentioned above, had enough faith in herself and her culinary abilities to the point where she was able to keep her home and wasn’t thrown out on the street. Never did Yeshua/Jesus or any other scripture say to empty out your pockets so that you could increase your faith. Faith is mental FIRST and it eventually manifests into a tangible result that will BENEFIT you. Neither would he have cared about “planting a monetary seed” or donating funds to a church building. He said the kingdom is in YOU (Luke 17:20-21) and that God does not reside in temples/churches made with man hands (Acts 17:24, Acts 7:48)! Corinthians 6:19-20…your body is the temple.

Furthermore, the scripture also does not say you can pay a monetary amount in order to ESCAPE trials and tribulations, but that you will in fact go through tribulations in order to produce steadfastness (James 1:2-8).

This pastor states that “debt” is a ploy of the adversary/Satan to make people slaves AGAINST their will. However, any debt that you enter into is indeed with your consent!! If you signed up for school and took out student loans or if you applied for a credit card, home mortgage, etc., those things were not done AGAINST YOUR WILL. You VOLUNTEERED for this debt with a plan to repay the borrowed money. Many people build homes and attain the things they need in life without borrowing money from a bank. So, it is a CHOICE that we make to go into debt to be quite honest. However, no one can escape debt by investing their money into a church! You escape debt by reading the laws surrounding debt relief, consulting with an agency that can consolidate your debt, or paying on your debt with monthly installments until an agreement is reached with the company.

You also do not erase any illness by giving money to a church. Many believers seek a doctor and pay for medicine or ingest herbs in order to heal themselves. The doctor went to school to study about the human body and we pay them for their knowledge and their service. And through good faith of their intentions and professionalism, we follow their guidance, which ultimately leads to healing. The Heavenly Father is the ultimate orchestrator of it all!

If we truly believed that healing came from sowing a monetary seed into the church, we would stay at home and not seek medical attention to let the “seed miracle” do its job.

This idea of investing money into a church organization in order to magically erase debt from your life, restore health, or any other thing is a bold-faced LIE and a SCAM.

This doctrine is being used to extort innocent people out of their hard-earned money. If God was taken out of the sales pitch, many wouldn’t bother to buy into it. But since these words are used along with a melody that plays on a person’s emotions, it’s unfortunate that many do fall for this deception. The pastor uses the lie, “God is trying to test your obedience” so that you can follow this teaching without giving it a second thought. Instead, he should have simply asked for people to put a little money into his organization if they believed in his teachings and/or business model. This gives people a rightful CHOICE that they can effectively reason with after being given an honest scenario.

On Easter Sunday, many “seeds” will be sown in churches across the planet to go towards who knows what. Church members will be made to feel guilty for not giving most of their money to an organization when this is no where to be found in scripture. Tithes was indeed food and the seeds were literally put in the ground to produce crops/fruit that would feed people…it wasn’t a metaphor. I will go into the tithe on a later post to describe more in depth what it was and will also disclose the commandment that was given to those who wanted to give money instead of crops or livestock for their tithe. “Offerings” were also not what we think it was and I will break that down in a later post as well.

Churches will raise thousands of dollars this month alone, but people will still be on the curb sleeping in the elements, starving, and don’t have a place to bathe. But you will be told that “God” wants you to sow a financial resurrection seed so you can have “blessings” such as a luxury vehicle and a mansion…healing, saved businesses, etc. If we don’t start asking questions, humanity will continue to suffer from ignorance and gullibility. I have no respect for titles whatsoever. I don’t care about a person being “ordained.” What does your heart and your message say about you? That is what helps me to determine a person’s character. All of this money “sown,” what have these leaders done to help the less fortunate as Christ or Yeshua would have done? Believers believe that Jesus fed the poor with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread, right? But your pastor can’t feed the poor with all the monetary seeds that’s about to be sown for Easter? Very interesting.

This is why it is important to study and research. I feel during these shifts on the planet, the true colors of people and organizations are being revealed. This will restore free will back into us. After knowing the truth, it is ultimately your decision to continue following something as a blind follower that is okay with being duped into spiritual scams OR become a free spirit through Christ so that you can feel more empowered and use the biblical text in the correct way to completely elevate your life.

I am in no way criticizing YOUR choice. But it would be of disservice to me to sit back and watch innocent people be lied to, betrayed, deceived, all of the above.

If you are a person who is CONSCIOUSLY using spirituality and twisting words in order to EXTORT people out of their income, please repent before judgment comes upon you. This is in no way acceptable. These atrocities will only cease when we stand up from the game and refuse to play. I hope this helps at least one person.
